Passengers were not allowed on a WizzAir flight in Budapest

The airline says that 95 passengers did not have the passenger locator form. The passengers view the situation differently than this statement.

A flight from Budapest to Germany would have taken off at 11:05 on Wednesday. 95 people were not allowed to get on the plane, and the situation seemed like a nightmare to them. WizzAir told Telex that

more than 50 passengers did not have the passenger locator form,

which is why they could not take their flight that day.

At the airport, an employee got into an argument with a passenger who did not have the document required to enter Germany. The airline’s employee then locked the gate after 84 people passed through. She registered that 95 passengers did not show up or none of them had the required document. The disappointed and possibly furious people did not have a choice but to watch their flight to Berlin take off, leaving them behind in Budapest. And that was not the worst part of their misfortune.

There was a passenger whose ticket was scanned and they did have the document in question, but they were not allowed to get on the plane. Since the passengers did not want to leave the gate, the employee called the police on them. Then, no WizzAir staff was to be seen. A passenger said that the airline’s system said that they did not show up in time.

Telex reached out to WizzAir, to which the airline replied that “more than 50 passengers did not have the passenger locator form,” a document which is a prerequisite to enter Germany. The people left behind allegedly got accommodation and food. WizzAir also tried to book a new flight for them.

On the bright side, WizzAir will have flights to more destinations from Hungary.
